Please note our updated policies and standards regarding the yard and cancellations.
HATS
Riding hats may be hired from the riding school at £1.00 a session. Clients are advised to buy their own from a reputable source that are qualified to fit them after a few lessons. They must meet the recommended safety standard and have the correct Kite no’s. BS EN 1384:1997, PAS 015:1994, PAS015: 1998, ASTM F 1163.
BODY PROTECTORS
Body protectors must be worn for jumping and cross- country lessons. It is a good idea to wear one at all times but again make sure it is professionally fitted and does not present a hazard to you.
FOOTWEAR
Training shoes, high heeled boots and shoes are not permitted. They are dangerous to ride in, as are flip-flops and sandals. Sturdy smooth soled boots or shoes with a block heel are recommended. If no boots a wellington may be worn but only with a smooth sole.
JEWELLERY
At no time should jewellery be worn when riding or handling horses.
GLOVES
It is advisable to wear gloves when riding or leading horses/ ponies.
CANCELLATIONS
24 HOURS NOTICE IS REQUESTED FOR A CANCELLATION.
It is very time wasting if clients do not turn up for a lesson. The horse/pony has been booked out, tacked up and staff left not knowing what is happening. A phone call will suffice and be most welcome. In line with most establishments in 2009 a missed lesson if not cancelled in time will have to be paid for before the next lesson. If clients miss two lessons without notification they will lose their place and have to rebook.
We will have sympathy for genuine reasons.
