Training

For those considering a career in equitation management or wanting to improve their competitive skills, the school has a variety of options available.

The Pony Club Centre Courses
The school is a centre for the Pony Club and runs an accredited course. The course meets once a week and is for children who don’t own a horse or pony.

Week 1 — Two hours of learning the finer points of riding, grooming and cleaning tack.

Week 2— Learning the essentials of stable management—1 hour.

The weeks are then alternated and so forth. Both sessions must be attended.
Tests are taken and badges studied for to give youngsters an important grounding in equitation skills.
There are currently vacancies available for keen children aged 8 years and above.
To join our Pony Club Centre you must have basic riding skills and be able to canter off the lead rein.
You can obtain an enrolment form from Mrs Woodhead and then its sent to Pony Club HQ.
A fee is payable to The Pony Club annually. Rallies must be paid for on attendance.

and further stages can be arranged.

Private Tuition
In-house tuition is normally in small groups but private or semi-private lessons can be arranged from beginner ability and upwards for a more intensive and personal experience.
Private tuition can be geared according to the aims of the rider e.g. dressage tests, jumping etc. and can be taken on your own horses if desired.
These lessons are external to the normal function of the school and charges are fixed individually with the highly experienced instructors—Ian Woodhead, Kate Elliott and Clare Farnham.

Further details are available by contacting the riding school.
